Yes, nee-chan she is FINALLY done!
Much like I've done with a few of my other characters, Kagome underwent a massive changes. I went through over 20 different hairstyles before finally returning to Kagome's original character sketches and decided to merge her older hairstyle with her new one. At one point Kagome's initial hair color was lilac, but I changed it to a blue when I did a realistic digital painting of her (I had to remove the artwork due to a third party discrepancy with one of the stock images I used). So one I reworked her hairstyle, I decided to return Kagome's hair color back to violet with a lilac streak. I had to spend some time debating on skin tones before I finally settled on giving Kagome lighter tones to help bring out the dark colors of her hair. I wanted Kagome's character to not only be pretty but to give off a sense of fragility so I purposely designed her to have a slimmer build than some of my other characters. Kagome, however, is character of power so I bumped her height up to help give her an intimidation factor. In Kagome's original design concept, I always drew her with a crown and earrings so I wanted to include this into her final design. Kagome is one of the few characters that has two sigils and has multiple weapons.
It took me a while to build up information regarding her character, mostly because I never fully fleshed out Kagome's character until recently. It actually was very useful thinking of who her enemies were, what her hobbies were, and so forth; it helped me visualize what kind of person I wanted Kagome to be. I am actually looking forward to making more of these reference sheets for the rest of Kagome's companions, but it will probably be a while before I can get to them. A lot of things keep coming up and I find myself with little time devoted to finishing off art projects.
